Oh, The Irony
Just yesterday I was at the store thinking I better buy an umbrella before the rain comes. I'm getting over the romance of Sean and I sharing one, so I was going to buy two, a nice masculine one for Sean and a pretty feminine one for me. I didn't end up buying them so I could save a few bucks. Its been pretty dry and yet this morning I woke to find it raining. Oh well. Since it only rains three times a year here I thought I could turn this into a good opportunity to let Ephraim experience and learn about rain. Once he realized that there was water falling on his head he reacted the way he does when I turn the shower on him, he started crying.

Whenever Ephraim is mad at me, like if I tell him he can't go outside or play with the computers or whatever, he bangs his head on the nearest object in protest. He'll hit his head on a door, a wall, me. He cut Sean's lip yesterday. Its really starting to bother me because of course I don't want my baby to get hurt or cause some long term damage. He's been doing this for a couple of weeks now. I try to deal with it by not giving in, not giving him what he wants, and trying to comfort him if he's hurt or put him in time out as punishment. I don't know what else I can do about this behavior but if you have any ideas I would like to hear them.

One, two . . .
Three. Ephraim says one and two. He learned from the girls counting to three before tossing him in the air. He's so silly. He cut his lip because he was mad and threw himself on the floor. Silly man. He loves his cousin Clark.

Update on the Baby Man
This is the real reason you read my blog, admit it. The baby man has been doing so many things its hard to keep up with it all. He's totally masochistic so if you see him over the holidays you might notice some lovely bruises in every color. He likes to jump off things, on things, bang things with his head, throw things, etc. He's a terror. He got kicked out of nursery for throwing a tantrum that involved banging his head against the walls and floor. I let him calm down and then I sent him back. Those nursery leaders put up with a lot. We went to my friend, Susie's house and watched the movie The Other Sister and while we were there Ephraim started playing with her son's cars. We don't have any cars for him to play with but apparently we need some. He became rather attached to this 99 cent store truck, which Susie said he could have, so we took it home and he's been playing with it ever since. He cries when we take it away from him, like for baths or for getting dressed. I even let him sleep with it the first night. He's been watching The Incredibles (which is an incredible movie) everyday for a while there, but he's gotten a little tired of it and has now been watching other movies as well. He can almost put on a movie by himself, with supervision, of course. He takes the DVDs out of their cases and can put them in the DVD player push play and turn on the TV. Now he might need some help and directions to get it all straight but he does pretty good. I'm not sure if this is a good thing, I haven't been teaching it to him, but Sean thinks its the greatest thing in the world and is very encouraging.

Yay! My new favorite show is Mononoke! Not Hime, or Princess, I hate her. I'm talking about the medicine seller from Ayakashi. I love him. I've been drawing his eyes all over the place, as Sean will tell you. He's so creepy cool. I love creepy cool. I like horror movies, its just a fact. And this is a one season wonder for you, rhymes w/ trunk. Here's a link to the official website
for all of you who speak Japanese.

Disney Princesses Part 3: Cinderella
I wasn't exactly sure how far I'd go with this theme but here's another one for ya. I never cared too much for Disney's Cinderella, even when I was a kid. There's nothing really wrong with it. Its got some really good songs, aside from the singing mice. I think my main problem with it is the style. Its very boring. Its also true that the romance has something lacking. Now, lets not be too harsh, this is a fairy tale and a children's' story so they don't need to go too deep into their relationship, but it could use a little more foundation and chemistry. Out of the thousands of versions of Cinderella out there, this one is definitely not the best. And I always thought her dress in the movie was white, yet in her merchandise they have it blue. That's her color.

Good morning everyone! Sometimes I have trouble getting up in the morning. I don't mean this to sound depressing, I know my last blog entry sounded depressing, but I'm not depressed. I was upset that day, I get frustrated when I try so hard and things still turn out wrong. Ephraim also puts me through the wringer, that can be frustrating as well. Yesterday he gave me a fat lip. But I'm actually very happy overall. Anyway, I can wake up in the morning happy and in a good mood even and still not want to get out of bed. Its just so comfy and warm and I'm usually still so tired. So then I try to convince myself to get up with a bribe. I used to use the breakfast card. Mmm, if I get out of bed I can have breakfast, yay! (Note the proper use of the word.) I haven't been using that trick lately. The other day I tried to use it and I didn't work. But yesterday I went grocery shopping and I bought some Toaster Strudels. I usually don't buy those. So this morning I woke up to the happy thought of mmm Toaster Strudel. It was good, too. Sometimes its just the little things that make your day. Ephraim was cute today, too. He was, of course, a little monster. He's been really clingy lately. He insisted that Sean hold him this morning while Sean was trying to get dressed. It was kinda funny seeing Sean try to get dressed holding a baby man.

I Broke the Blender (Complaining Again)
I broke my blender today so I'm going to need a new one. It's a shame too, because it worked so good, even though it was old. I haven't been having a good day. Today I was suppose to go to play group and hang out with the other moms in my ward, but just like last time, I got there and no one was there. Ephraim and I went to the library and that was cool because we got to see some cool statues and Ephraim actually looked at some books this time. But I'm really upset because I was really looking forward to playing with the other kids and talking with the moms. I still hate this ward even though I trying really hard not to. There are a few people I get along with real well, but I still feel out of place. In my old ward it was easy for the relief society sisters to get together and have activities, but here they make everything so complicated. I have a visiting teacher now, she's pretty cool so I hope that will help me out. Okay, I've read somewhere that the best thing to do to get to like the new place you've moved to is to not complain about it and get to know the area. So I've got to keep trying to find something good about this place.

Yeah, Yea, Ye, and Yay!
Okay, I've just gotta say it! Yeah, yea, ye and yay are four separate words! I'm tired of people writing yea when they mean yeah, or saying ye when they mean yea! Just get it right already! That's all I wanted to say.
