The Pension Application filed by J.W. Kinnan 15 Mar 1898 stated that William M.(Dead). It is noted that he is listed in the 1870 Census and not in the 1880 Census. According to Octa Grace Kinnan Berringer, the family belief is that he died about age 15, but that no record was kept./Guylene Cox./He was not married.

It is believed that she ran away with a married man and had a common law marriage with him. His name was Robert Norris Henry and they moved to Blue Island, Illinois as the story is told.
