Supposed to be of French Descent. Family Bible notes indicate that she was born in Switzerland, but census records indicate Delaware. The census records seem the better pick in this case.

I expect she is a second wife. Originally I estimated a marriage date of Abt. 1810 based on birth of first child, but a web site source listed marriage date as 1817. The 1850 census, however, does something very unusual listing Elizabeth between children Dewitt and Adam. If I were to guess I would say that Elizabeth is the mother of Adam, but not the previous children.
