This is listed as a grandchild of Thomas Skidmore, since John had a son named John, the record is here. Possibly his father was one of the other skidmore boys.
June 1675 (12 years old) accidently shot and killed a young friend, Thomas Barker. Indicted for Murder.
Trial held in New York city on 7 October 1675. His father represented him.
Nathaniel Denton testified that the young Barker forgave John Scudamore before he died and "the father did the like".
Jury returned with the verdict of "chance medley", John was cleared by proclamation.
