Prior to 1770 he went to Tunnelton along the Conemaugh which was then Westmoreland County and later became Indiana County, but he returned to Franklin County at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. He served in the Revolutionary War. (He is not mentioned in the History of Westmoreland County so it is though that he never returned to settle that area of the west as some other relatives did - need more research )/Guylene.

Page 136 James Kelly had a son Meek Kelly. He had a will in 1803. His farm was late the Alex Barclay Farm. There is s sketch of the Kelly family in Armstrong Twp.(Indiana County) (See also the write up of Jonathan Row). Once he, his wife and their children fled (? the Mohawk and went to Wallace's Fort). He died in Indiana County in 1803, but for a time previous , he lived in Conococheague in Franklin County where he joined the regular service as a private in Colonel McGraw's regiments and was in battles of Brandywine, Monmouth, K. (There is a note to se Jonathan Row, Indiana Register, 1859). {Guylene wonders if there are many errors in the Kelley or Kelly data that she has in that information was blended or attributed to the incorect Kelly or family, as they were numerous with duplicate names and birth dates close together.)/Guylene.2Vital Records 1830-1893, Morrow County Ohio, Ancestry.com, Ancestry.com, Internet.
