Obituary in Newspaper File: Within the past week two prominent aged men were removed from their respective communiities by death. Samuel Gailey , age 86 years, died at his home near Eldersridge on Sabbath night at 11:45 o'clock. after an illness of almost 6 months of ailments incident to old age. He was born and spent his entire life on the farm where he died. On July 3, 1855 he was married to Miss Catherine Alexander, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Brown Alexander of near Freeport, who passed away April 22, 1914. Deceased was a life long memeber and for many years a ruling elder of the Olivet United Presbyterian Church. His cheerful disposition won him lasting friendship of all all with whom he came in contact. The deceased was the brother of the late Andrew Gailey of this place. He is survived by the following children: R.C. of Edgewood, Porter of Tarentum, N.E. of Dodge City, Kansas, Mrs Mary Shearer of near Olivet, John H. of North Side Pittsburgh, E.B. of Belleview and Margaret and Joe at home. Funeral services will be held in his late home this Wednesday Morning at 10:30 o'clock by his pastor Rev. W.C. Kim Policastro records and copy of obituary: Pneumonia caused the death of Elsie Gailey, of Pittsburgh, at the Commercial Hotel in Brookville, on Saturday morning, January 26, 1918, aged about 45 years. Mr. Gailey was a traveling salesman for a Pittsburgh Butterine firm and contracted the disease a few days before Christmas and lingered on until death. He is son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gailey deceased of Conemaugh Towship, and was never married. Five brothers and two sisters survive him. Funeral services were held at the Gailey homestead in Conemaugh Township.3Eldersridge Cemetery, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

Kim had a copy of his obituary as follows: " Andrew Gailey, aged 85 years, of East Oak St., died at the Suburban General Hospital, Bellevue, Pittsburgh, Sabbath evening June 20, 1915 about 9 o'clock, following an operation for hernia which he underwent on Wednesday. Mr. Gailey was twice married. In November 1853, he was united in marriage to Miss Agnes Kirkpatrick, who died in September 1855 leaving one son Harvey Bruce who died June 24, 1874. On March 17, 1857 he was wedded to Miss Margaret Hershbreger. To this union were born ten children, one of whom Sara Jane died 30 June 1865. Mr. Gailey is survived by his second wife and the following children: AW Gailey and Mrs Harry W. Earhart of Indiana; OA, AF, AF and EW Gailey of Pittsburgh, Mrs. RC Timberlake of Vandergrift, SC Gailey of Edgewood, Ida M. Gailey of Bellvue and Alice at home; also one brother Samuel Gailey of near Clarksburg. Mr. Gailey had been a resident of Indiana for 65 years, 58 years of which were spent at his late home on Oak St. He was a consistent member of the Second United Presbyterian Church, where funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev GC Morrow.
