Daniel B. Henry was a member of an old and honored family of eastern Pennsylvania. He attended school in Cherryhill Twp., Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He enlisted for the Civil War 15 July 1861 in the State Guards. In September 1861, he transferred to Company I, 55th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry under the command of Colonel White. He was in the service until 30 Aug 1865. At the time of his death he was a retired farmer and resided at Cookport, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He died at Cookport on 29 Aug 1912. He is burried in Sample Run Cemetery. He was married to Rachel Shank on 1 Nov 1866./ Guylene Cox researched this March 28, 1968.
