1Will, #941.
Will at Lower Smithfield Twp., Northampton, Pennsylvania (This later became Monroe County). John Learn's last will and testament dated May 17, 1777 #94I
(Northampton Co. became Monroe County).2Notes.
There are many approximate dates recorded for his birth. It seems that he was born in Germany; went to Great Britain (Northern part of England) and then to Holland and sailed for America. He went to Philadelphia and then to Tannersville in Northampton County,Pennsylvania and lived at "Brinker's Mill".3Family Notes.
John was killed by Indians. At the same time George his son who's DOB is 1751 was killed as well as George's wife and infant son. Another small son survived and went to live with relatives in the state of New York, porbably Cattaraugus County. (This information is not absolutely verified. The source was a book on the Learn Family that was in the posession of Buelah Keating Lydic who is the daughter of Mary Laney Keating. The book was reviewed by Guylene Cox in the 1960's and the information written. By the 1980's Buelah's children did not know anything about the book or what may have happened to it. This also has a combination of information of a Mr. Knoll who had submitted papers to the Family History Center.
1Notes.
County may be seen as Northampton.
